Since its inception in 2006, the Finca Bellavista neighborhood has evolved into a sanctuary for humans to enjoy the biodiversity and ambiance of the rainforest, while becoming a world-renowned arboreal paradise. Creating awareness and appreciation of the environment is critical in building future generations of conservationists, and the Finca Bellavista experience allows visitors a special glimpse of rainforest life.
A large variety of Costa Rica’s 800+ bird species visit the Finca Bellavista grounds daily, providing a birdwatching paradise. Numerous types of tanager, toucans, motmots, trogons, and so many others frequent the community base camp. Other common guest sightings include tamandua, 2 types of monkey, frogs, tayra, peccary, basilisk, and coati.
Viewing these animals in their proper habitat, and not in a cage or a zoo, elicits an excitement and wonder in adults and children alike. The experience of rainforest immersion that Finca Bellavista offers is hard to imagine without a first-hand visit. Each year, as more guests explore the grounds and the birds-eye views from our rainforest treehouses, Finca Bellavista’s community of conservationists grows.
