There’s one week left to donate to The Bellavista Initiative for a chance to win a 6-night ‘Treehouse Sampler’ vacation at the finca! Each $10 donation made qualifies the donor to win this special trip, and the drawing is on July 1, 2014.
Our current fundraising campaign will provide housing for research biologists monitoring the flora & fauna of the region.

Finca Bellavista just received its 2014 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence! Thanks Team FBV for making so many efforts to make our guest experience top notch!
As many of our visitors and ‘finca friends’ are aware, Finca Bellavista has been without telecommunications connectivity for years. Being out of touch with the outside world has resulted in multiple challenges that not only impact our daily operations, but can adversely impact visitors and residents.
While disconnecting for a few days on vacation is a luxury to many in today’s world, there are obvious reasons why modern man needs connectivity. Running a business, calling for emergency services, or simply being able to connect with a family member are common daily needs.
Our inability to meet these growing needs has prompted us to make the decision to install fiber optic connectivity to the Finca Bellavista base camp in 2014. This will give our visitors and residents the option of connecting when necessary. While the majority of the finca will remain a ‘cold spot’, our intention is to not alter our sacred community vibe with this connectivity (especially at meal times and gatherings). Therefore, the access will be limited to a ‘hot spot’ near the FBV office. We are excited about this improvement, and hope our residents and visitors are too!
ICE’s crews arrived today to begin work on the installation… Yay!
