Finca Bellavista is a great place to explore, with plenty of adventures and activities on site for guests to enjoy. And for those with wanderlust, the surrounding Southern Zone has plenty of options for beach time, deep-sea fishing, chocolate farm tours, kayaking, and much more.

Finca Bellavista has kilometers of improved hiking trails that access different portions of the property and provide a great way to get acquainted with the rainforest.

Guided Night Hikes

Go on a guided night hike to get a closer look at reptiles, amphibians and other nocturnal creatures. This activity is a favorite amongst guests.

Zipline Tour

Though not a commercial canopy tour, Finca Bellavista’s canopy network zip line at Finca Bellavista by Matt Berglundprovides a unique, birds-eye perspective of the property. Inquire at check-in for availability.

Waterfall & River Swimming

With two rugged rivers running through Finca Bellavista, opportunities abound for exploring natural pools and waterfalls. For those with a keen eye, fossils can be found in Rio Bellavista after a storm, and during dry season, you can snorkel a bit.

E-Bike Tours

Mountain biking…. with a boost. This tour takes visitors up to the nearby indigenous village of Los Angeles, and an epic backdrop of the Fila Cruces. Inquire at check-in for bike and guide availability.

Garden Tours

Exploring the colorful, edible gardens of Finca Bellavista has become a favorite activity for guests. A mini-garden tour is included in the purchase of a Finca Fresh Produce Bag, but if guests want to learn more, the gardeners are always open to longer tours.

Creative Arts

Inspiration awaits the photographer, painter or writer. Finca Bellavista’s sensory overload combines avifauna, insects, moths, butterflies, flowers, trees, and the scenic wonders of rivers, trees, gardens and mountains. Hammock Time

Don’t forget that vacation time is earned, and everyone deserves moments to relax and unwind! A hammock lounge is available in the Community Center, and hammocks are available for guest loan at rentals.

Rancho by James LozeauMassage & Spa Services

Finca Bellavista’s massage cabin overlooks the Rio Bellavista, and provides a perfect perch to enjoy the sounds and ambiance of the rainforest during a relaxing massage. Inquire at check-in for availability.

Yoga Classes

Beginner yoga classes are occasionally available during the morning hours. Yoga mats are always available for personal practice in the Community Center.

For those with wanderlust, the surrounding region provides great opportunities for day trips and authentic experiences.

PLAYA BLANCA & FINCA KOBO CHOCOLATE FARM

Who doesn’t love chocolate? Finca Kobo provides a very informative and delicious tour near the village of La Palma. Tours start at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., and reservations are recommended. Nearby is Playa Blanca, a serene crushed coral beach on the Golfo Dulce, surrounded by verdant mountains. Playa Blanca is a lovely spot. Kayak rentals are also available in this area.

GOLFO DULCE EXCURSIONS

Changing Tide Tours provides an intimate view of Golfo Dulce, and can arrange boat tours from Puerto Jimenez, Golfito, or Playa Blanca. Dolphin and whale watching trips, snorkeling, and other adventures are on offer year-round with reservations.

ISLA DEL CANO/CORCOVADO/MANGROVE TOURS

Perla del Sur in the fishing village of Sierpe provides boat tours to Corcovado National Park, Snorkeling Tours of Isla del Cano, and Mangrove Tours of the Sierpe River region.

BORUCA INDIGENOUS RESERVE

The indigenous Costa Rica tribe Boruca has a vibrant reserve where visitors can explore the daily life of this culture.

PIEDRAS BLANCAS NATIONAL PARK

Esquinas Rainforest Lodge offers a multitude of tours on the Golfo Dulce and in Piedras Blancas National Park.

GOLFITO/GOLFO DULCE BOAT TOURS

Mar y Luna in Golfito offers a variety of boat tours and water-based activities, including scuba diving, snorkeling, whale watching and deep-sea fishing.

COSTA BALLENA EXCURSIONS

Snorkeling, diving, fishing, kayaking and National Park tours are all on offer with Bahia Aventuras in Uvita.

NAUYACA WATERFALLS

Nauyaca Waterfalls offers tours to the epic set of waterfalls. Whether hiking or horseback riding, the thrill is a memorable experience.

SURFING & PADDLEBOARDING

Finca Bellavista is the land layover and is almost equidistant to three very popular surf breaks – Pavones, Matapalo, and Dominical. Pavones is to the southwest, Matapalo is to the west on the Osa Peninsula, and Dominical is to the north. For newbies, try a surf lesson with Uvita 360.
