The Finca Bellavista treehouse community is a rustic, private retreat off the beaten tourist path where guests can explore the natural wonders of the rainforest and enjoy the simple life. This is a great place for independent travelers and nature-lovers to get back to the earth and explore.

Finca Bellavista is IS NOT a full-service resort or a typical hotel or lodge. Please visit our Trip Advisor page for guest feedback and reviews.

Finca Bellavista is in the Southern Zone of Costa, in between Rio Claro and Palmar Norte. Please see OUR LOCATION before planning a visit. Directions and additional information will be sent to your booking email upon making a reservation. All reservations are bound to our RESERVATIONS POLICIES.

4-wheel drive is REQUIRED on the last 3 kilometers of public road to the finca. Nighttime arrivals CANNOT be accommodated. Our check-in hours for houses are 2 to 5 p.m. Arrival to the finca before noon is discouraged.

You will be walking to/from your rental. Do NOT bring a rolling luggage. Less is more and backpacks work best. Porters can be hired for a per-bag fee, when available.

High season (dry season) is mid-December through April. Low season (green season) is May through November. Year-round daytime temperatures in Fahrenheit/Celcius are in the 80’s/mid-20’s, year-round nighttime temperatures are in the mid-60’s/upper teens. On occasion, there are rainy days, but even in the middle of rainy season, the mornings are typically clear. Don’t let the prospect of rain ruin your vacation – it’s warm rain and is very pleasant!

FBV residents don’t wear bug spray. The bugs are not inherently bad (they are minimal compared to the coastal areas) but there can be more depending on the moon cycle. This is nothing to cancel your vacation over, just come prepared with lightweight pants or bug spray.

-Bring a BACKPACK, do NOT bring a rolling suitcase  to hike to your treehouse

-BOOTS & SOCKS!!! There are a variety of reasons why you should wear boots while exploring the jungle. Please bring your own boots and long socks to wear with them.

-a FLASHLIGHT or HEADLAMP (with batteries to power it)

-A variety of quick-dry clothing to accommodate the above weather description

-reusable water bottle

-bathing suit

-waterproof sunblock

-bugspray if necessary

-raingear (it’s warm rain, but if you don’t like being wet, bring raingear)

-wildlife, flower or plant guides

-a book to relax with (we have book swap shelves too)

-a computer or device if you are planning on doing any communicating, work, or being on WIFI while you are at FBV. We cannot loan out FBV computers.

Meals are available for purchase in our Community Dining Hall. We will need advanced notice (at check-in, or the meal before) if you are planning on joining us. Meal delivery is available when staffing allows. If your party has dietary restrictions, please notify us on your reservation form.

There are filtered spring water stations throughout the Finca, including each rental. You will not need to bring bottled water.

If you will not be taking advantage of community meals, please bring your own food, or purchase a bag of farm-fresh goods through us. We offer garden tours as well for those that want to learn about our *Finca Fresh*  lifestyle!
